This week, the Lord spoke to me concerning the fear surrounding all the prophetic words released by multiple prophetic voices about October 2022. The Lord spoke to me and said, “It is a smoke screen, and it is all smoke and mirrors.”
Philippians 4:6-7 NASB
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
The fear of the enemy is always built on lies and is designed to create a wedge between you and the Lord. It places an emphasis on human reasoning over true relationship and fellowship with God. It places one person or person’s “voices and relationships” with God above your own. However, the Fear of the Lord is designed to draw you closer to Him, the source of hope, peace, and joy. In my lifetime, over 40 years, I have seen fear cripple nations and the world. From Y2K to the pandemic to the most recent elections, fear and the political spirit have lied to us all, creating greater division, and have driven even the purest hearts, sound minds, and Godly voices to speak from fear, anger, and anxiety. There will always be wars and rumors of wars, trials and tribulations, and persecution for the righteous because this world is predominately ruled by the unrighteous and the Godless. Also, as we’ve seen over and over, there will always be cheaters and liars looking to influence elections through manipulating the economy, news, and even the creation of war. Here’s the truth, evil exists, October is a month known for an increase of witchcraft and evil, and there is a huge election looming which, when all combined, there will probably be an increase of fear and anxiety in our nation.
However, I believe that as believers, our job is to press in and pray more fervently, to love more passionately, and to stand more firmly on righteousness in spite of what we’re seeing and hearing with our natural eyes and ears. If the fear you’re feeling condemns you and evokes anxiety, anger, and judgment (judging yourself better or more worthy), the fear you’re feeling is coming from the enemy. However, if the fear you’re feeling leads you to change, evokes repentance, righteousness, and peace, and draws you closer to God, then chances are you’re led by the Fear of the Lord.
This is not a time to fear but a time to draw closer to the Lord, allowing Him to guide us and prepare us and not allowing human reasoning to talk us out of our peace.
2 Timothy 1:7 NASB
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity (fear) but of power and love and discipline (sound mind).
May the Lord remove the spirit of fear and timidity and replace it with His Spirit, which manifests in His power, love, and sound mind, in Jesus’ mighty name.
